First Visit to Our Dentist’s Office: When You Arrive
If this is your first visit to our dentist’s office, you can expect one of our patient coordinators to check you in and let Dr. Abad know you’ve arrived. They’ll also verify your insurance, if you have coverage, and help you complete your new patient form. One of our team members will then escort you to one of our treatment rooms.
Your Oral Examination
During your first visit to our dentist’s office at Alondra Dental Care, one of our dental assistants will capture digital X-ray images of your teeth. Afterward, Dr. Abad will comprehensively examine your X-rays, review your medical and dental history, and discuss any of your dental issues or concerns with you. Dr. Abad will also perform a cancer screening, which involves examining your mouth, tongue, neck, and jaw. This is recommended once a year. Following this examination, Dr. Abad will create a personalized dental treatment plan for you to address any issues discovered, such as cavities or gum disease.
Your Hygiene Appointment
During your first dentist visit to our highly rated office, a dental hygienist will thoroughly clean and polish your teeth. The hygienist may use traditional tools or a cutting-edge water-powered tool based on your unique needs. They will also recommend a fluoride treatment to help protect your teeth from cavities. This exam may take around 45 minutes. You will leave our office with specific dental advice for how you can maintain excellent oral hygiene between now and your next visit.
Next Steps
Following your oral exam and dental cleaning, our patient coordinator can schedule follow-up visits for you and go over your payment options. They will also be glad to answer any questions you have about Dr. Abad’s recommended services or what your insurance will cover.
